You're About To Play Batman: Arkham Knight Again
Batman: Arkham Knight may not have seemed like a likely candidate for an update in 2023, but a surprising addition offers a major new draw.
More than eight years have passed since the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, but it might be time to don the costume of the Caped Crusader once more thanks to a surprising new addition. The initial launch of Arkham Knight was somewhat shadowed by a PC port with severe performance issues, but patches and time have made the experience more well-remembered for its generally excellent gameplay. Although an update for the game in 2023 certainly isn't something that could have been easily predicted, it speaks to how well Arkham Knight holds up in the current market.
Much like the Marvel's Spider-Man games, Batman: Arkham Knight offers a variety of costumes that Batman can don for his crime-fighting endeavors. A select few could be unlocked through story and gameplay accomplishments, while the majority were tied to free or paid DLC, platform exclusive incentives, or logging in with a WB Games ID. This latter category focuses on Batsuits popularized through other media, from Arkham Asylum to anime to feature films like Burton's Batman and Nolan's The Dark Knight. There's always room to expand such a library, and that time has surprisingly come around once more. Arkham Knight Has Added Robert Pattinson's Batsuit
The Batman marked the first major addition to the Batman film canon since Batman: Arkham Knight stopped receiving updates, handing the role over to Robert Pattinson for a mostly grounded detective story that found success in its moody shadows and brooding hero. Well over a year after the film's initial theatrical release, a free update added Pattinson's Batsuit from the movie to Batman: Arkham Knight, available via download from the Epic Games Store. The suit hasn't yet appeared on other platforms and has seemingly already disappeared from Epic, however, suggesting an accidental premature release.
2023 Is A Surprisingly Big Year For Batman: Arkham Games
The best explanation for the appearance of the Robert Pattinson Batsuit in Batman: Arkham Knight is the planned release of the Batman: Arkham Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch. Originally set for an October 13 launch, the trilogy will now be arriving on December 1. It's very possible that the Arkham Knight update was intended to tie in with the Arkham Trilogy port, and it's likely to reappear in the near future regardless. Although there's no confirmation that the update will come to platforms beside Epic Games Store, it seems reasonable to assume that the suit will appear in Arkham Trilogy and hopefully other versions of the game. Actually suiting up as Robert Pattinson's Batman might take a bit longer depending on the ultimate official release plans for the update, but it does look like the time to return to Gotham is dawning soon for fans of the film. This might not replicate the experience of the movie in quite the same way that a direct tie-in game would, but it still fulfills on the basic fantasy of stepping into that character's shoes. Batman: Arkham Knightmay have lain dormant for years, but it's reared its cowled head once more thanks to the surprise addition of Robert Pattinson's Batsuit.
