Cyberpunk 2077 New Wallpaper Shows That Subways Suck in the Future

Living in a technologically hyper-advanced future doesn't mean catching your train is any easier.

Considering everything going on right now, it might be a while before you get back on a subway. Well luckily, Cyberpunk 2077 is here with a new wallpaper to remind you how much subways can suck sometimes, and how they could be even worse.

You can find the wallpaper on the game’s official Twitter account, and naturally, it’s free to download. It shows a scene unfolding in one of Night City’s many subway stations. Of course, it isn’t a pretty one, although it captures the essence of the cyberpunk genre – acceptance of things far outside the norm.

In the background, massive armored police officers hold a crowd away from a subway car, armed with futuristic rifles and metal riot shields. The foreground shows a different scene, with V sitting next to a businessman, who’s leaned back and relaxed, listening to something through headphones. V somehow looks just about as calm as the guy next to him, although instead of a briefcase, he’s carrying a pistol. Off to the left is the cause behind all the commotion; a pair of legs stick out from off-screen, with a trail of blood leaking out from them.

While this wallpaper is just cool to look at, it also tells us a little bit more about the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
