Enzo Favara
Enzo began his life as a carusu—a child laborer—in a sulfur mine in early 1900s Sicily, dreaming of escape. When his opportunity finally comes, he’s drawn into the criminal underworld through a chance encounter with the Torrisi crime family. His sense of loyalty to the family he never thought he’d have, and his desire for a better life, pulled him deeper into the violent and complex world of organized crime. Honest at heart but increasingly troubled, Enzo struggles with the moral conflict between his actions and the man he wants to become.
Bernardo "Don" Torrisi
Bernardo Torrisi’s rise to power began far from the streets, in the rugged fields of a family farm lost to debt and his father’s ruin. A gifted hunter and provider from an early age, he carved a violent path through Sicily’s underworld; earning fear, forging a gang, and eventually building an empire of both criminal and legitimate interests. On both sides of the law, Bernardo operates with the same ruthless efficiency. But beneath his commanding presence and strict adherence to the code of honor he’s sworn to uphold lies a man gripped by inner conflict. As his strong-willed daughter Isabella drifts further from him into independence, Bernardo must work to maintain the iron rule that built his legacy and the fragile bond that remains with the one person he cannot afford to lose.
Isabella Torrisi
Isabella, the daughter of Don Torrisi, grew up in the long shadow of tradition. Despite her privileged upbringing, she dreams of a life of adventure beyond Sicily, away from her father’s watchful glare. When she crosses paths with Enzo, she’s drawn into his world: one where loyalty means everything, and love is fraught with the danger of discovery. Her intelligence and unshakable determination carry her through, even as she wrestles with the tension between her heart’s desire and the brutal realities of life inside the Torrisi crime family.
Cesare Massaro
Cesare lives beneath the dual weight of privilege and insecurity as the Don’s nephew, raised on the family vineyard yet never fully accepted into the inner circle of men he idolizes. Though he bears no Torrisi blood, he clings to their name as his own, masking deep-rooted self-doubt with swagger, impulsiveness, and a carefully crafted charm. Naively ambitious, he dreams of inheriting the Don’s empire, even as his recklessness and reputation for deceit keep him at arm’s length from the men whose respect he craves. His growing friendship with Enzo offers a rare sense of genuine connection. It’s this bond that allows Cesare to step out from behind the façade and realize that, to earn respect, he must take his responsibilities, and his oath to the family, more seriously.
Luca
Luca is Don Torrisi’s charming and charismatic underboss, who rose through the ranks with quiet strength and steely determination. He earned his place through competence, confidence, and unwavering loyalty to the code of honor he has sworn to live by. A confidante and mentor for the young men of the family, Luca is the first to recognize Enzo’s potential and works to bring him into the fold. Compassionate yet scarred by a dark past, he walks a careful line between reason and ruthlessness, often clashing with Tino, the Don’s consigliere, on the best course of action for the family. Level-headed and decisive, he keeps the operation running smoothly from the shadows, balancing blood and business with a rare grace and shouldering more than most to preserve the peace he’s fought hard to find.
Tino Russo
Tino, consigliere to Don Torrisi, sees himself as the embodiment of true Sicilian tradition. The lessons he lives by were taught not by family, but by bloodshed and betrayal. Hardened by a lifetime of violence, he thrives in the shadows of power, savoring his role as a ruthless tactician. His instinct to push the Don toward aggression frequently puts him at odds with Luca, whose natural tendency is to temper the family’s wrath and seek a diplomatic path. Tino is immediately distrustful of Enzo and makes it clear that he is always observing him. It is his watchful eyes and fierce loyalty to the Don that guide his every move through the shadows.
