NBA 2K20 Cover Athletes Revealed - Anthony Davis is NBA 2K20’s Cover Athlete & Dwayne Wade for L

Anthony Davis is NBA 2K20’s cover athlete for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions and Dwayne Wade will be gracing the cover of the Legend Edition.

This isn’t the first time Anthony Davis has been featured on the cover of NBA 2K, back in 2016 he shared it with Stephen Curry and James Harden. Davis has been an impressive athlete for years but trade drama pushed him even further into the spotlight this past season.

Previously a center/power forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, Davis demanded a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers. The trade will be finalized on July 6, 2019 but it wasn’t an easy road. The first trade deadline was missed, resulting in a particularly drama-filled season. As a healthy athlete, the Pelicans were required to put Davis on the court or they’d be hit with a fine. As a compromise, interim general manager Danny Ferry limited Davis’ playtime to 20-25 minutes a game. And on his last game, Anthony Davis strolled in wearing a t-shirt that read “That’s All Folks.”

Davis will be a Los Angeles Laker during this upcoming season but he can be seen on the cover of NBA 2K20 wearing a neutral athletic shirt. His arms are folded with a basketball securely tucked underneath. It's a protective, yet powerful stance.

The Legend Edition, on the other hand, features Dwayne Wade rocking a Miami City Jersey against a celebratory, palm tree filled background. It seems fitting given the fact that he spent the vast majority of his career playing for the Miami Heat. Oddly enough, Wade isn’t stepping onto the real-life court this season at all. The 2019-2020 NBA Season marks his first year of retirement. According to the NBA 2K franchise, this three-time NBA Champ is officially a legend.

We know that Lebron James plays NBA 2K to figure out how new players will fit into the team so chances are he’ll be playing NBA 2K20 to set up virtual plays with cover athlete Anthony Davis.
