Hideo Kojima Meets Cyberpunk 2077 at CD Projekt Red’s Tokyo Game Show Booth

In what can only be described as a legendary photo opp, Hideo Kojima pays a visit to the Cyberpunk 2077 booth at Tokyo Game Show.

If there are two games that we couldn’t be more excited for on the horizon, it’s the long-awaited releases of Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077. As two of the most high profile game releases on the horizon, it’s only fitting that the two would eventually meet in one way or another, and it seemed to happen at Tokyo Game Show.

During the kickoff of Tokyo Game Show 2019, Hideo Kojima himself happened to pay a visit to CD Projekt Red’s booth for Cyberpunk 2077 and shared several photos on his Japanese Twitter account. Naturally, Kojima took a ride on the cyberpunk-style bike at the booth, left his signature on the booth wall, took a picture with the CD Projekt Red team, and took a picture with a Cyberpunk cosplayer on hand.

Given that Keanu Reeves himself paid a visit to the booth only a short while beforehand, I think it’s safe to say that CD Projekt Red is having a great start to Tokyo Game Show this week already.

Given the anticipation surrounding both of these upcoming games, with Death Stranding just under two months away, it’s only fitting to get excited at seeing these two bizarre, wonderful worlds colliding in a small (but awesome) way. Unfortunately, now all that it makes me think about is whether or not we’ll actually get that Death Stranding x Cyberpunk 2077 crossover in video game form. Spoilers: it probably won’t happen, but I’ll take Hideo Kojima on a cyberpunk bike any day of the week, regardless.

Death Stranding will release exclusively for PS4 on November 8, 2019, while Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. For more of Kojima’s adventures in Cyberpunk-land, you can check out the photos below:
